Draft — pending owner approval

This text is a draft. It has not yet been approved and may change before MeritVeri launches.

MeritVeri awards recognise companies for specific results in a specific year, country, region or industry. This page explains how awards are structured, prepared, published and, where necessary, revoked.

How awards are organised

  • Award type — a recurring award with its own description and methodology, for example Best Employer or Customer Choice.
  • Award edition — one edition of an award type for a given year and, where relevant, a country, region or industry. For example: Best Employer — Belgium — 2026 — Technology.
  • Award placement — the rank of one company in one edition. Each placement has its own reference, for example AWD-BE-2026-000435.

Rankings

Each edition ranks at most 10 companies, from rank 1 to rank 10. A rank belongs to exactly one company, and a company appears at most once in the same edition. A company's rank in one edition has no influence on its rank in another edition.

How an edition is prepared

  1. Criteria — each award type publishes its methodology: what is assessed and which sources are used. The page of each award type shows this methodology.
  2. Preparation — MeritVeri assesses the companies and prepares the ranking manually, according to that methodology.
  3. Publication — MeritVeri publishes the edition and its placements. Until then, the edition is a draft and not public. The published edition page shows the full list of ranked companies, the scope and the methodology.

No ranking is calculated or published automatically. A person decides on every edition.

Independence

Award placements and rankings cannot be bought. No company can pay for a placement, a better rank, or the removal of a competitor. Being verified or having an account does not give a company any advantage in a ranking unless the methodology of that award type explicitly says so.

Records, badges and certificates

Each placement has a public record page with the company, the award, the edition, the rank, the reference and the current status. It also comes with an embeddable badge and a printable certificate.

An award is a historical result: it describes the outcome of an edition at the moment it was published. It is not proof of a current verification and says nothing about the company after that edition.

Revocation

A placement can be revoked, for example if it was based on incorrect information or if the company broke the rules of the award. A revoked placement stays visible with the status Revoked on its record page; its badge and certificate no longer show it as an active award. When a company is removed from the directory, its placements no longer appear in edition lists; their record pages show No longer listed, and their badges and certificates are no longer available.

Previous editions remain available, so the history of an award can always be followed.
